My way in this magnificent breed started in a 2012, when to our, 5 cats, 1 old grumpy dog and 3 human family joined fluffy miracle Dzeiseiki – Akita female. For me as a completely cat person, Akita was a perfect match. Independent, calm and really wise, even in puppy age, this breed is all I ever want in dogs. As it’s said “ easy dog never makes you to a great handler “ and Dzeiseiki wasn’t easy, i had to learn much about temperament and puppy growing problems.

Our kennel is placed in a country side of beautiful European country Latvia. Our dogs live with us in our house, puppies is risen in family under 24/7 hours contact. I try to keep our stud dogs in minimum amount, because I breed companions and believe that Akitas is the most suitable dog for that purpose. All our stud dogs is successful show dogs, many countries champion, important awards winners.

First of all, my main goals in breeding program of Enso Akitas is preserving unique temperament of the Akita, to keep our dogs in functional anatomy, and to maitain health of the breed. No doubt that temperament is a main part of every breed out there, and lucky is the most stable unit that breeder can guarantee, of course if breeder is knowledgeable about how to determined it’s in puppies. Most likely temperament that puppy is showing in a early age will stay in the same way for rest of his life. Some things is possible to correct, but adding unique features is impossible. Akita is a dog with strong and stable nervous system, self confident, calm, in a good contact with his master. They can be aloof towards strangers but never should be aggressive or fearful. Same with other dogs, Akita are introverts, they don’t need company of others, and has quite wide comfort zone. Properly socialized Akita will ignore other dogs. As for me, I actually prefer little bit more active dogs, so my Akitas is on a active side.

Good, functional anatomy also ir quite easily determined in a young age. Akita is a strong dog in body, with strong legs, back and movement. If Akita has a good structure then, you won’t be worried about skeletal problems, puppy will be easy to raise and adult dog will stay active for long time. Classic look of Akita is a dog with moderate angulation in front and rare, wide chest, compact in body.

And the most challenging part of a Akita breeding is health. All our stud dogs are completely heath tested. Hips, elbows dysplasia, eyes, amelogenesis imperfecta, diversity, but still there is no guarantee that some of autoimmune diseases will not appear in future. I’m constantly studying different lines, keep my list of any autoimmune illness cases, really try to do my best for this dark side of my beloved breed. And hope for best.
